You Are Not Far (audio)

The rulers of the Jewish people, regardless if they agreed with Roman rule or didn't, could agree on one thing: Jesus was a threat to them. It was clear the Pharisees, Sadduccees, and Herodians didn't agree on much of anything, but they could set aside their differences long enough to try to discredit Jesus in the eyes, hearts, and minds of the people.

In the crowd that probably formed around Jesus and these leaders as they debated stood a scribe, a man who's entire life was devoted to faithfully copying scripture. He heard Jesus' responses to these leaders and asked a question that had, perhaps, been on his mind for awhile: what is the greatest command in the law?
