Image of God: Stewardship (audio)

Stewardship is being entrusted with something that belongs to someone else, but is to be treated as though it were yours. I don't know if that is the actual dictionary definition, but that captures what stewardship is all about.

The Bible tells us that God created us in His image. Without that we'd be but a pile of dirt and dust. Yet, He created us in His image, it's something He gave to us. With that came the responsibility of practicing stewardship over the rest of creation, and to participate in the act of creation itself. Yet, a steward who doesn't trust the one who entrusted him becomes a bad steward, and that is exactly what happened.

Yet, God has given us an opportunity of redemption through the work He did, and while that image of God we were created in may be marred, it isn't gone completely. When our lives are surrendered to God, we are once again entrusted with what God is doing. He wants us to participate with Him. Take a listen to the sermon in the link below. Please share it with someone you know needs to hear it.
