Worship Costs Us (Audio)

There is a lot that is to be learned from the book of Genesis. From understanding that we were first created in the image of God and that He breathed His life into us translates into He created us to have relationship with Him, as it is in Him we have true life, to understanding that God desires for us to bring Him our first and best worship, not for His own sake, but due to the presence of sin in our world it orients us and keeps us from going astray. Plus, the way we worship, if we do so in a way that God commands and desires, demonstrates that we are in relationship with Him.

Worship however costs us something. It's not necessarily a monetary cost, although it can encompass that. It is more about costing us the things that keep us from being who God created us to be, the things we like to fill our time with, the idle pursuits, perhaps even what may turn out to be costly relationships with the world and those in it.

Today we looked at the story of Noah, who was a man that was a part of the world, but stood apart from the world in that he walked with God. I encourage you to take a listen to today's sermon and let me know what you think.
